Thomas Rhett is back with startlingly good new release – What’s Your Country Song. Here, Madeline Christy reviews the new track.
Thomas Rhett teases long awaited fifth album with the release of ‘What’s Your Country Song?‘The new song was written by Rhett and his father; fellow country legend, Rhett Akins, alongside Ashley Gorley (Blake Shelton’s I Lived It), Jesse Frasure (Florida Georgia Line’s Blessings) and Parker Welling (Russell Dickerson’s Yours).
What’s Your Country Song? is essentially a bingo game of classic country hits including the likes of Hank Williams and George Strait.
When discussing the track, Rhett expressed the roots of the song ‘We wrote this song on the road last year in Dallas, Texas…It’s really about how I was noticing that no matter where you live or where you’re from. Everyone has a little bit of country insider their bones.’ While the track is beaming with nostalgic lyrics, the likes of the production is crispy fresh – bright choruses of guitars and Delta slides are panned wide to provide the image of true country-wide-ness.
