Southerland have released the official video for blue-collar anthem ‘Came out of Nowhere.’ Watch the music video below.
Rising Country duo Southerland have released a music video for their “blue-collar anthem” (Music Row) “Came Out Of Nowhere.” The video includes self-shot footage from the duo comprised of Matt Chase and Chris Rogers, spanning across the small-towns and picturesque landscapes of Mont. and Tenn.
“Up to this point, we have been lucky to make some great videos but for this one we wanted to simplify it a bit. Make it more about the ‘in the moment’ and not so much a storyline. We wanted it to be as raw as possible. A lot of it we even shot ourselves on the road,” shares Chase.
The “new duo taking Country music back to its roots” (Forbes) has spent the last calendar year touring with Parmalee, Ray Fulcher and Michael Ray among others. “Hitting each note dead-on” (Forbes), their debut EP Boot Up received critical acclaim from Forbes, Rolling Stone, Music Row, Country Now and more.
Everyone saw the duo’s potential in Charleston before they saw it themselves. Before morphing into Southerland, the two had been playing college towns and dive bars together for three years. They met through mutual friends and their musical compatibility is what has kept the two working and playing together since 2016. They have developed, quite naturally, into a duo that relies heavily on lyrical content, while melodically blending classic and pop country. The two create music that takes the storytelling of traditional country music and gives it a relatable, modern country feel.
