Grant Gilbert has dropped his new breakup anthem ‘She Goes Home (Dirty Breakup Song’ available everywhere now.
Rising Texas Country artist Grant Gilbert has dropped his post-heartache hit “She Goes Home (Dirty Breakup Song)” accompanied by an all-new music video, available everywhere today. The new breakup anthem, penned by Gilbert, Joybeth Taylor and hit-maker Rivers Rutherford (Brooks & Dunn, Trace Adkins, Brad Paisley, Dolly Parton) turns a new page for Gilbert, serving fans his first new single since his March 2021 debut EP Trouble Like Us, it’s a fresh and phenomenal track beckoning in a new era for his music. Gilbert releases the fresh track after racking up thousands of pre-saves/pre-adds and nearly 2M impressions since announcing the song last month.
“When we wrote ‘She Goes Home’ last March, all the writers and my team knew it was a pretty awesome song. But, it wasn’t until we posted a video playing the song acoustically online that fans blew it up instantly asking for it to be released immediately. From there, we gathered a producer we knew would crush the direction of the song with Johnathan Singleton, and went into the studio to cut it as soon as we could,” Gilbert shares. “Fast forward to now, I couldn’t be more proud and excited of how the song came out. My hope is for as many people as possible going through a breakup to realize they aren’t alone in how they feel during a relationship split.”
The new video, released via River House Artists and produced by Emma Kate Golden, follows the song’s narration of a messy breakup as two characters fight, break up and go their separate ways in coping, “When it goes South / It don’t take long / He goes out, and She Goes Home,” Gilbert sings while playing the role of a bartender. This past weekend, Gilbert played at The Hideout at the Houston Rodeo and will make his first Whiskey Jam appearance on 3/7 for his own takeover, with a lineup to be announced soon.
