Dylan Scott presses the gas on brand-new track – New Truck – available everywhere now, alongside the full-throttle music video – watch below.
Dylan Scott has amped up his sound with brand-new song, “New Truck”, available now. The track follows his second #1 RIAA Gold-certified single, “Nobody” and will impact US Country radio on August 9th. ‘New Truck’ is a fiery break-up anthem that is brought to life on his gritty new music video that will set his memories ablaze. On the track, Scott sings about wanting to cleanse himself of the memories of an ex, by selling his truck and the memories that he associates with the truck. ‘I need a new truck / There ain’t nothing wrong with mine / It’s got 40 something thousand miles / And the engine runs just fine / No it ain’t tore up / Ain’t got a scratch, ain’t got a dent / The radio the works, it don’t show dirt / Worth every dime I spent.’
The track was written by HARDY, Hunter Phelps, Ben Johnson and Ashley Gorley, “New Truck” continues Scott’s red-hot streak of hits. “The first time I heard ‘New Truck,’ it sounded different than anything else I was listening to,” the Louisiana native shares. “We’ve all been in a situation where you and your significant other have broken up, and it’s tough. Every time you get back in your truck, you go back to certain memories of them in there as well. So this song is saying, ‘Man, I need a new truck to quit thinking about her.’”
