Dermot Kennedy has released a brand new version of his hit single ‘Better Days’ – a collaboration with Earthgang. The original version of the track was co-written by Dermot and Grammy-nominated Scott Harris (Shawn Mendes), ROMANS (Lewis Capaldi, Khalid), Daniel Nigro (Olivia Rodrigo ‘drivers licence) and previous collaborator Carey Willetts, with production by Nigro. On the new version of the track, EARTHGANG add their own unique touches to the track; their Atlanta drawl working against Dermot’s smooth Irish vocal to create a truly global sounding version of the track – a new take on a fan favourite.
On the track Dermot said; “I’m so honoured to have EARTHGANG feature on ‘Better Days’. We met in LA a while back and started talking about doing something together, and when they sent me the first pass of their verse and I immediately loved it. They brought a new energy to the song but kept the same message of battling through adversity. I’m so glad they’re part of this song.”
EARTHGANG followed up with; “Dermot is an amazing guy and this is a beautiful record. Music inspires hope, and people are in need of something to hope for these days.”
Dermot is also one of three acts to perform alongside Dua Lipa as part of the Truly Finale event with EARTHGANG and Korean singer/DJ/producer Yaeji. The event will go out live via hard seltzer brand’s Twitter on February 2nd and will then sit on YouTube for 24 hours after. Watch here.
