Rob Mayes releases new track ‘Didn’t Do This On My Own’ today.
Following on from March release “Addicted to the Chase”, LA-based singer/songwriter and actor Rob Mayes today released outlaw anthem “Didn’t Do This On My Own” a big anthemic track that opens up the stratosphere of Mayes’ sonic diversity.
The raucous anthem, which received its first radio play on Chris Country’s Drivetime show with John Collins, is about acknowledging the people that helped you get to where you are. It was written by Rob with Smith Curry, Nick Autry (Black River Entertainment) and Earl Bud Lee (one of the co-writers of Garth Brooks’ iconic hit Friends in Low Places). “Didn’t Do This On My Own” is an International Songwriting Competition Semi-Finalist.
Commenting on the track Rob shares:
“’Didn’t Do This On My Own’ is a fierce outlaw homage reminding us that we should in fact take full credit for very little in life. Between family, friends, others, and God – we’ve been helped along the way and should remember to give credit where credit is due. ‘Didn’t Do This On My Own’ doesn’t mess around: it packs a punch and takes no prisoners”
The track was produced by Smith Curry and mastered by Grammy-nominated Andrew Mendelson.
“Didn’t Do This On My Own” follows Rob’s recent sold-out StageIt show, as part of UK-based Country collective Destination Country’s ‘Live In Your Living Room’ sessions. The series is helping to keep revenue streams open for artists while the COVID-19 pandemic is preventing touring and live shows.
This weekend Rob will be performing at virtual festival Stagecouch, which he has curated and organised. It features Craig Campbell, Desmond Child, Wood Newton and many more. Stagecouch starts at noon PST / 8pm UK time on Saturday 25th April. For more information and tickets please visit https://stagecouchfest.com.
Rob’s debut EP “Closer” was released in September and to date he’s released 12 singles over the past year. During 2019 Rob amassed more than 239.1k streams and 107k listeners for his music.
As an actor Rob is known for his work on ABC’s “Mistresses”, Lifetime’s “The Client List” and the cult classic film” John Dies at the End”. He will next be seen opposite Val Kilmer in the Western “A Soldier’s Revenge” (watch the trailer) and the horror/thrillers “The Stay” and “Day Six”.
