October is already set up to be one hell of a month, with many artists crossing the Atlantic, alongside Country Music Week. Added to that list, we now have Tami’s new album, ‘Velvet & Steel,’ out on October 12th, a compendium of blues and soul produced by an authentic legend of American music – Bobby Braddock, who has worked with the likes of George Jones, Willie Nelson and Tammy Wynette.
This single ‘The Cure,’co-written by Grammy award winner Chris Stapleton with Jay Knowles. ‘The Cure’ is embossed with the soulful grit for which both artists have become known.
‘My hands are heavy, my legs unsteady, my body’s running on yesterday’s caffeine. I need to feel you, but I feel like I do that might just be the end of me. / But I’m still not sure, if you’re the cause or the cure.’
Stapleton’s backing vocals meld beautifully with Tami’s powerful, soulful tone, in a gorgeous track, just as much at home in blues, soul or rock albums, and is a fantastic introduction to wet our appetites for the coming album. Tami is set for great things, as this powerful, thoughtful track proves.
