Kings of Leon headlined day two of BST Hyde Park 2024 in style
After a spectacular day one of the festival, it was Kings of Leon to take to the icon Great Oak Stage on Sunday night. The Tennessee rockers put on a jaw-dropping display with a 29 song strong set of their biggest and most underrated tracks, from their debut to their latest album, kicking off with ‘Ballerina Radio’ to the final track ‘Use Somebody.’
The crowd – already buoyed up by epic sets from The Vaccines and Paolo Nuntini – hung on the band’s every beat, roaring as the drummer Nathan came on stage donning an England football shirt, and singing back every note to the band’s biggest hits, including ‘Sex on Fire’ that was an epic mid-set moment. The set comprised a rich exploration of the band’s back catalogue, from newer tracks to deeper cuts, the band have mastered the art of a delicately balanced set list, before ending on the riotous note of ‘Use Somebody.’ It was a masterful display of a band at the height of their handling of their own artistry, one that didn’t involve many pauses or hesitations but delved deep into their own music. True rock and roll icons.
