The Destination Country network is thrilled to premiere ‘The One Thing’ – the new track from Jess Thristan. Originally, written as a piano demo with Jessica Sharman (Ward Thomas, Dan Owen), the track was given a new lease of life with Nashville strings by Eli Bishop (Lee Ann Womack, Maddie & Tae).
The song stemmed from a conversation Jess and Jessica had in a writing session about the endless stories of gender bias in the music industry even though it can be applied to different situations. It’s about being constantly told you’re not good enough and not worthy of investment but going off on your own and succeeding in your own terms without compromising yourself and your art. In Jess’ own words: “this song is really just sticking a middle finger up to anyone who says you can’t achieve something you want. Yes, you can. Yes, you will. And they can sit and watch you do it and realise they missed out on how amazing you are. *channels Julia Roberts* Big mistake. HUGE.”
Listen to the track here before its release tomorrow.
