We are so excited to premiere the new music video for Curtis Grimes’ single ‘Ain’t Worth The Heartache’ across the Destination Country network today.
Curtis Grimes is today premiering the new music video for his track ‘Ain’t Worth The Heartache’ across the Destination Country network. The track is taken from his sublime forthcoming acoustic EP released this Friday. The acoustic EP will be released digitally, and will act as an appetizer of things to come blended with a couple of hits. The EP has enabled Grimes to take a step back with his music. “You obviously have your radio singles and your fully-produced stuff for the commercial aspect of it. On the EP I got to strip it down and let this be a little bit more traditional sounding. In a way it’s a way (for me) to say ‘hey, this is still the kind of music that I enjoy. This is the sound I’m going for’ and then we use radio singles to stay relevant and stay on the radio.” Despite the ongoing pandemic, Grimes was able to go back into the studio to record the project due to being an independent artist. “I’m thankful that we have the flexibility where I can write songs that I’m going to cut, go in and record them and release them whenever I want to and how I want to. There’s nobody telling me, ‘hey, I need this kind of sound or this look’. It’s nice to have the freedom as an independent artist, but not everybody in the US has that luxury. There’s not a scene like this anywhere else. Georgia might be close but still they migrate to the Nashville scene. We’re very blessed. I just appreciate the fact that we get played on the radio. This is going on 10 years now and it wasn’t something that (I expected) when I set out to be an artist. I was a fan of it, got into it, had the opportunity to just cut my teeth and go for it, and it worked out.”
