The most hotly anticipated dating app of the year launches today – POM – the dating app for music lovers. For the launch of the app, POM will collaborate with some of London‘s top restaurants to cover the first 1500 dates.
After months of increasing anticipation, POM, aka the Power Of Music, launches today. Initially limited to 25,000 people, users can download the dating app now from www.discoverpom.com and secure a spot in the queue.
POM also announced that the first 1500 matches will be eligible for a free date at participating restaurants. POM have partnered with some of London’s hottest restaurants including Chick’n’Sours, Patty & Bun, Mike’s, Skylight and more to be announced. The restaurants will have a special POM set menu for those first dates to enjoy and the bill will be picked up by POM.
POM focuses on users forging connections through their shared music tastes and by seeing a person’s true, emotional profile instead of a series of facetuned photos and misleading bios. POM wants to bring back the organic nature of meeting someone – they’re not just an online dating app, they carefully curate real-life events and dating experiences too. Their launch night featured a DJ set from the brilliant Shanti Celeste and they have their next POM PARTY happening on Thursday at 147 Stoke Newington. POM are working with Identification Of Music (link here) to host POM Presents: IOM w/ Riz La Teef b2b Katya & Bailey Ibbs b2b Paige’. They will also host an evening of music and discussion focusing on the experience of women within the underground music scene. POM presents IOM w/ Jyoty, Mixtress & Ell Murphy at Next Door Records will take place on Friday 24th September at Next Door Records, W12.
POM users sign up and connect their music streaming service (the initial launch is compatible with Spotify and Apple Music) to their profile, allowing their tastes to then be analysed by POM’s smart algorithms. POM uses a first of its kind algorithm in order to determine the users emotional profile based on the music they listen to. POM also wants to help you find love, whatever your gender identity or sexual orientation. If you’re a music lover, you’re welcome on POM. They’re a dating app unlike any other!
