Back by popular demand for 2024 – American Express presents BST Hyde Park opens its doors in between the three weekends of legendary music, to host the hugely popular summer event Open House. For eight days across three weeks, Open House offers tons of activities for all the family, with FREE access to BST Hyde Park!
After the success of last year’s show, All Things Orchestral returns on Friday 28th June for another spectacular evening of live classical music in London’s beautiful Royal Park. Presented by Myleene Klass, the event will feature special guests including guitarist MILOŠ and violinist Esther Abrami, who will perform alongside the world famous Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra, conducted by Michael England. All Things Orchestral wants to turn the tables and bring classical music back for all – with affordable ticket prices and the world class live experience that has made BST Hyde Park a favourite fixture in London’s summer event calendar. Experience the Cornish Orchards Chef’s Table with Woodfired Canteen at American Express presents BST Hyde Park this summer during Open House. This ticketed experience means you can drink and dine with friends in The House of Peroni outdoor area right in the heart of Open House. This year, our Chef’s Table is hosted by Woodfired Canteen, who will be serving a delicious 3 course menu full of seasonal, authentic ingredients. Norman Jay MBE takes over Open House on Thursday 11th July, with DJ sets, a panel talk session and live music with Norman Jay’s Good Times Band. Arguably one of the finest and most respected DJs in the world today, you’ll be guaranteed a good time of soul, jazz and funk – all in the heart of Hyde Park! Plus, Soho Radio are doing a takeover of their own – on Wednesday 3rd July come along for Soho Radio DJ sets, talk panels and a selection of live bands.
Make sure to catch the new conversation series COMMON GROUND… DISCUSSIONS FROM A PARK BENCH – from 6:30pm – 7:30pm on Monday 1st July, join football legend John Barnes MBE and renowned broadcast and political commentator Alastair Campbell as they discuss football, politics, racism and capitalism live. This is an incredible chance to see these two major British figures talking about some of the most interesting events happening in our culture today, with a fun and relaxed twist in the sunshine of Hyde Park.
The Angels of the North at Open House? Oh, uh-huh. Join drag superstars Ginger Johnson, Michael Marouli and Tomara Thomas for their heavenly live show on Friday 28th June, 8:45pm at the Rainbow Stage presented by British Airways. Also don’t miss drag performers Just May and Grace Shush, they’ll get the party started by hosting the first ever British Airways Flying Proud presents the Big Pride Quizwith prizes to be won and DJ sets.
On Tuesday 2nd July we’re pleased to welcome Spirit of Sundaze Ensemble, a recording and live performing project embracing a myriad of influences from Balearic to synth-pop to Brit-funk. This performance is their debut appearance at Open House, bringing together some of London’s finest left – and dance- leaning musicians to reimagine and perform a selection of tracks which have been foundational across Secretsundaze’s 20-year history – a project which sits at the intersection of live musicianship and electronic music innovation.
The fun continues into the final week of Open House, with a Bongo’s Bingo Partyon Tuesday 9th July, and Abstract Orchestra performing on Wednesday 10th July- blending jazz orchestration with hip-hop beats and MC’s, the 18-piece live band creates reinterpretations of hip-hop classics, from legends including J Dilla and MADVILLAIN.
Plus, there’s plenty of chances to get active each week, with Chelsea FC Foundation Football Coaching sessions, Lord’s Community Cricket, and Park Sports Tennis.
In collaboration with The Royal Parks, the free programme takes place between three spectacular weekends of music, with headliners SZA (29th June), Kings of Leon(30th June), Morgan Wallen (4th July), Andrea Bocelli (5th July), Robbie Williams(6th July), Shania Twain (7th July), Stevie Nicks (12th July), Kylie (13th July) and Stray Kids (14th July), with the full line up for each day to be announced.
