Less than 60,000 hits on YouTube? How?
Jillian Jacqueline’s ‘Reasons’ is definitely in the running for one of my songs of the summer, if not for the whole of 2017. It’s not hard to see why Rolling Stone named Jacqueline as one of the ‘Top 10 New Country Artists You Need to Know‘ in May 2016, it’s just a shock that her career as of yet has not skyrocketed. This song is red raw with emotion in every line, the Pennsylvania native laying bare the fragility of a relationship gone wrong, hopes unfulfilled and isolation. The catchy melody, beat and tempo nearly make one skip past the wistful, frustrated and yearning sadness at a potential future life lost, doors closed and ultimately the loneliness that inevitably follows the termination of a relationship. Jacqueline faces reality head on with stunning results.
Watch this space, I have all my fingers crossed for Jacqueline, if this song is anything to go by, she is headed for great things.
