Renee Blair introduces audience to her alter ego – Hillbetty – on new project ‘Hillbillies & Betties’ out now.
Renee Blair has introduced audiences to her alter ego – Hillbetty – as she embarks on a new era of her music, with the release of ‘Hillbillies & Betties‘ out now. The lovestruck tale serves as Betty’s backstory and was penned by Blair with Blake Pendergrass, Nick Bailey, and Lenny Pey with production by Jordan Schmidt. It is set to a delicate banjo-ladden melody and features Blair’s tender yet impressive vocals. The fresh chapter continues showcasing “her genre-blending kind of country” (CMT) and innate ability to bring her lyrics to life.
“My upcoming album is full of party-going anthems, however, ‘Hillbillies & Betties’ is different,” shares Blair. “It’s the only one that stands alone and stands apart on the album. This song is sonically reminiscent of old country classics and tells a timeless tale of small-town love without any percussion like ‘House That Built Me.’ This is as pure country as pure country gets.”
The track is the second release from her upcoming album – Hillbetty – set for release next summer, and follows on from the successful story Renee Blair laid out on her debut album – Seventeen. Blair recently welcomed her first child, with husband Jordan Schmidt.
