Rising artist Redferrin to release debut EP – Old No. 7 on February 16th 2024
In many ways, Warner Music Nashville’s rising artist Redferrin is a musical version of the famous Jack Daniels Old No. 7 blend. Made in Tennessee just like the whiskey, the singer-songwriter is emerging from behind the scenes of country’s edgy new post-modern era. Now, he has announced his forthcoming debut EP, Old No. 7, out 16th February. Inspired by Jack Daniels, the seven-track collection packs a punch you can’t ignore. Each song was co-written and co-produced by Redferrin himself – an important new ingredient making Old No. 7 his most potent (and exciting) small-batch yet. Pre-order the EP here.
“It feels good to finally be releasing a project rather than singles,” said Redferrin. “I got to be super hands-on and craft the stories the way I wanted them to be told, and it’s very special to me. I’m excited for people to really get a feel for who I am and what kind of music I make.”
Along with the EP announce, Redferrin has dropped the deeply personal track ‘Doin’ Life’ . Written by Redferrin, Jarrod Ingram and Blake Hubbard, the song touches on depression and choices you can’t take back. “‘Doin Life’ is one of the most vulnerable songs I have released,” said Redferrin. “I’ve battled with depression in the past and have lost friends to suicide, so it was really important to me to tell this story and put this song out into the world. Music kept me going through the hard times and I hope that someone comes across this song right when they need it too.”
The 2024 Amazon Breakthrough Artist To Watch gave another taste of the upcoming EP last month with the easy-going, feel-good track ‘Miss Summer‘, which takes listeners through the thrill of a summer fling.
Born Blake Redferrin, the White House, Tennessee native is bursting onto the scene as one of Nashville’s most unique and innovative new artists. Living just 30 miles north of Music City, he spent his first 24 years on the pegs of a dirt bike, chasing high-speed dreams with the throttle pinned and no kill switch. He earned a professional ride by the time he was 18 and joined the national Arenacross circuit. But crashes and injuries are a constant companion in racing, and they eventually catch up with everyone, so he began exploring the idea of changing direction. The singer/songwriter recently played Tin Roofs across the country and will join Niko Moon on tour this year with more dates to be announced. He will also have his first-ever headlining hometown show at Nashville’s Exit/In on February 15. For more info and to buy tickets, please visit https://www.redferrin.com/.
