After the mammoth success of season one, The Summer I Turned Pretty will return next month for season two. Here’s everything we know so far about the forthcoming season.
What will season two of The Summer I Turned Pretty focus on?
The Summer I Turned Pretty is a trilogy of books by Jenny Han – a coming of age story centring around Isabel “Belly” when she spends summers by the beach with her mother Laurel, older brother Steven, her mother’s childhood best friend Susannah and her sons Conrad and Jeremiah (with whom Belly becomes entangled in a love triangle).
Whilst the story may diverge from Jenny Han’s novels, in the second book in the series – It’s Not Summer Without You – Susannah dies from breast cancer, Conrad’s grief laying a weight on his new relationship with Belly. Conrad eventually runs away from home and Belly and Jeremiah go on a road trip to find him and bring him back. During this trip, the love triangle between Belly and the brothers deepens, with Belly and Jeremiah finding solace in one another.
