Blanco brown is back this Friday with the release of his EP ‘Heartbreak & Lemonade.’
Blanco Brown first went viral with the release of his worldwide hit ‘The Git Up’ which boasted nearly 4 billion views across all platforms. Now, the singer, songwriter and producer is back with his highly anticipated project ‘Heartache & Lemonade,’ out everywhere this Friday. The project offers a fresh, well-rounded look into Brown as an artist.
“This EP feels a bit different for me,” said Brown. “I’ve now traveled the world, looked death in the eyes and somehow made it back alive. Bitter moments never lasted, sweeter moments brought me back to purpose…Heartache & Lemonade brings about a new chapter. Try turning some of your worst moments into a smile every once in a while.”
The project opens with ‘Energy,’ a short lingering and nostalgic intro, musing on heartbreak, but that’s possibly the most pensive moment on the project. From there, Brown easily moves onto following track ‘Tailgating In The Sun,’ a more expansive track about celebrating being in the moment with a love. The groove is layered here, as Brown sings ‘let’s lay here til tomorrow.’ ‘Good As It Gets’ then ramps up the beat a notch, in a driving song about celebrating the big moments in life. ‘Tonight’s about as good as it gets.’
Final track ‘Sunshine Shine’ is a feel-good anthem that radiates positivity on every line – the catchiest song on the record that offers a blend of the sound for which Brown has already marked his name. Heartache & Lemonade is a solid project from start to finish that underlines the elements, through which Brown broke barriers and began pushing the boundaries of country music, creating his distinctive style.
