Megan Moroney has expanded a deluxe version of her critically acclaimed debut album – Lucky.
Megan Moroney’s rise has been meteoric with the release of her debut album – Lucky – earlier this year. Now, she has expanded on the critically acclaimed success of the record, with the release of three new songs, including guest spots from fellow rising artists Kameron Marlowe and Mackenzie Carpenter. Additionally, the deluxe release will be accompanied by a November vinyl edition of the album. Moroney has recently celebrated her first CMA nominations for ‘Song of the Year’ and ‘New Artist of the Year.’
The three new songs on the record round out the project and continue to paint a picture of a star with a phenomenally bright future ahead of her. ‘Fix You Too’ is a devastatingly honest duet with Kameron Marlowe, about choosing yourself over the pull of a potentially disastrous relationship. Moroney and Marlowe’s vocals are mesmerising in tandem, painting a raw and emotional portrait that packs an emotional punch. The following track changes the energy up a notch, as Moroney and Carpenter team up for an immensely fun track, making fun of themselves for falling too quickly. ‘I can’t wait for our second date/Maybe he’ll show up with his grandma’s ring/Til then I’ll be spending time naming our dogs and babies/You know, nothing crazy.’ It’s wittily and smartly delivered, and is a sheer delight to listen to. Final track, ‘Reasons to Stay’ packs another emotional punch with Moroney tormented by a love gone wrong that she is unable to pull away from. These three additional tracks are equal parts smart and vulnerable, underlining the accolades and praise that the original album garnered – a true success for a record.
